How much time should I allocate to get to my competition venue?

Spectators are advised to travel to competition venues using public transport, bicycle, or on foot, as access will be restricted for cars and motorcycles.

Due to the high demand on public transport networks during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, you should expect extended travel times in the Île-de-France region, which will vary depending on the distance between your accommodation and the desired venue.

If your venue is located further from Paris (e.g., Château de Versailles, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Vaires-sur-Marne nautical stadium, Le Golf National, etc.), your travel time to the site could be 2 to 3 hours from the major Parisian stations.

To help you plan your trips to the competition sites, the Public Transport Paris 2024 app dedicated to transport during the Paris 2024 Games will be available from spring onwards. Until then, it is not recommended to use existing route planning apps for this purpose, as they do not yet incorporate the full range of transport options that will be available during the Paris 2024 Games.
