Four tips to make it easier to travel during the Paris 2024 Games with Paris 2024 Public Transport app

With a total of 25 competition sites and more than 1000 sports sessions, cultural and festive events to attend throughout the region, being part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is also about exploring Île-de-France and enjoying the festivities.

To ensure your travels are as straightforward as possible, Île-de-France Mobilités has developed the Paris 2024 Public Transport app, an all-in-one app available on both Google Play and the Apple Store.

Ready, set, download! Here are four practical tips on how to use the app to simplify your travel.

Tip 1 : Fill out your traveler profile to customize your routes

When searching for routes, enter your starting point and destination. Once the search is complete, click on the icon in the upper right corner, and fill out your traveler profile.

Walking speed, walker with difficulty, wheelchair user, cycling speed, types of transport you want to use... the app adapts your journey to your needs!

Tip 2 : buy the Paris 2024 Pass on the app

You may have already heard about it. The Paris 2024 Pass is the transport ticket designed for spectators of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It gives you unlimited travel and access to the entire Île-de-France region, as well as to the two airports, Roissy-CDG and Orly.

Our advice ? The best way to buy it is on your phone with the app, to avoid waiting at the station.

Please note

The Paris 2024 Pass is valid from midnight on the day you validate your first trip until midnight on the last day.

How to buy the pass ?

You have two options. From the home screen, click on the “Purchase” section at the bottom of the screen:

  1. Click on “On my phone” to buy and validate your tickets with your phone
  2. Please note: to validate with your phone, you must have an Android phone with Android 8 or above or, for iPhone users, at least an iPhone XS, XR or SE 2 with iOS 17.5 or above.
  3. Click on “On my Navigo Pass”, buy your Paris 2024 Pass and load it onto a Navigo Easy Pass (available by mail order or at train stations) from your phone

Please note

If you have loaded several transport tickets onto your phone or on your Navigo Easy Pass in addition to the Paris 2024 Pass, from 20 July, the Paris 2024 Pass takes precedence over other transport tickets on your phone or Navigo Easy card and will be validated before other tickets.

Other transport tickets are available to buy on the Paris 2024 Public Transport app:

●     the t+ ticket (Please note that T+ tickets do not work outside Paris. Use the Passe Paris 2024 to travel to a competition site outside Paris)

●     the OrlyBus ticket

●     the RoissyBus ticket

Not sure which ticket to choose? Calculate your itinerary in the app, it will give you the best option for your journey.

Tip 3 : Follow the suggested “Paris 2024 Journeys”

Are you someone who plans every detail of your trips ahead of time? Or perhaps you're so familiar with Paris that you feel confident navigating the city without the trip planner during the Paris 2024 Games?

Our advice ?

On the day, always check your route on the Paris 2024 Public Transport app, before setting off.

Why should you check the route on the app before travelling?

Due to traffic and various events, the best route may not necessarily be the one you would expect.

To avoid unpleasant surprises, trust the “Paris 2024 Journey” highlighted in pink in your app.

Tip 4 : Bookmark your competition and celebration venues

Are you planning to attend a competition at the Arena Bercy? Or at Les Invalides or the Golf National? Bookmark the competition and celebration venues you are going to and get personalised traffic information on the Paris 2024 Public Transport app.

How do I add competition and celebration venues to my favorites on the Paris 2024 Public Transport app?

From the app home screen:

●     Click on the “My Paris 2024 venues” section

●     Scroll down the list and tap the star icon to the right of the venue name to favorite the one you want.

Tip 5 : Have a look at the maps for your favorite venues

Another good idea ?

Click on a competition venue in the “My Paris 2024 venues” section where you can view or download a map of the venue along with information on the location and the events taking place there.

These maps are very useful, especially when there are several entrances, exits or competition and celebration venues in the same place.
