Passenger safety is a priority for Île-de-France Mobilités, it consistently invests in improving security within the public transport system across the Ile-de-France region.
With 500,000 spectators per day of Olympic competition and more than twenty competition venues to serve, the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games demanded a customised security approach, working in conjunction with security forces.

A human presence
More than 4,000 prevention and security agents are deployed daily on the Île-de-France Mobilités public transport network.
On platforms, in stations and on-board: patrols from GPSR*, Suge**, and private security teams and mediators, ensure the safety of passengers every day, complementing the national police and gendarmerie forces.
During the Paris 2024 Games, these agents will be particularly vigilant, ensuring the safety and peace of mind of all spectators.
Explosive cyno-detection brigades
The cyno-detection brigades specialise in detecting explosives and operate across the Ile-de-France transport network.
They are prepared to intervene in the event of abandoned objects, working in conjunction with the police.
Video protection: more than 80,000 cameras deployed in stations

Beyond the presence of agents, more than 80,000 video protection cameras are strategically placed throughout the network.
And for the Paris 2024 Games, 10 million euros have been invested to improve and increase surveillance of the main stations near the competition venues.
A security system coordinated by police headquarters
The public transport security system is meticulously planned and coordinated under the authority of the Police Prefecture, responsible for securing the event and ensuring safety in public transport.
The Operational Coordination Centre of Security (CCOS), co-financed by Île-de-France Mobilités, plays a crucial role in this effort.
